Fair Lawn Teacher's Car Hit by Paintball on River Road, Paint Splattered Inside

A Lyncrest Elementary School teacher in Fair Lawn had paint splatter inside her vehicle after a paintball struck the car while she was driving home from school Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. as the teacher drove south on River Road past Morlot Avenue, about a quarter-mile from the school and heading toward Elmwood Park. Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Eric Eleshewich said the teacher had her driver’s-side window open when the paintball hit the vehicle, causing paint to splatter inside. She was not injured.

Police Response

The teacher returned to the school and reported the incident to police. Patrol units responded and canvassed the area. Detectives collected photographs and other evidence as part of the investigation, which remains active. It has not been determined whether the paintball strike was random or targeted.
